Andria Wilson Counseling
Therapist | Writer | Speaker
I am thankful you are here. Exploring counseling is a courageous step towards change. I am aware that counseling is a vulnerable process and you may experience apprehension upon making this decision. Please know I employ a warm, empathic, and nonjudgemental approach with clients. I am passionate about helping others know that post-traumatic growth and healing are possible. You are not alone in this process.
I'd be honored to come alongside you in this important work.
We all have a story.
"When we deny the story, it defines us. When we own the story, we can write a brave new ending."
We all have a very important story that makes us who we are today. Along this journey, we often get stuck and feel alone in our pain. I have been there — and it is a lonely place.
Together we’ll work to uncover and better understand your story, its challenges and the day-to-day stressors that detract from your life and focus, and will identify and practice things that will enhance your ability to move forward with presence, authenticity and self-compassion.
Who needs therapy?
Therapy is for anyone who is searching for more. It’s that simple. There is no weakness in asking for help.
Actually, it is one of the most courageous and loving things we can do for ourselves. My goal is to help others heal trauma, foster resiliency, and create a meaningful life journey.
A Place to Tell Your Story
Hi there, I'm Andria.
I love coffee shops, writing, yoga, and traveling with friends.
Poet Maya Angelou wrote: "There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you". I refer to myself as a"story catcher." I feel grateful and humbled that I am able to bear witness to the "untold stories" in the lives of my clients. My passion in counseling is to create a relationship built on safety, trust, and hope, where people feel accepted and challenged to grow in new and meaningful ways. In the safe and confidential space of therapy, I have seen many lives transformed and hearts are made free as they are unburdened, seen and courageously known.
My own story has cultivated curiosity and passion centered around the resiliency of the human person: mind-body-spirit. This awareness guides my approach within the field of trauma therapy, resiliency, and post-traumatic growth.
I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Professional Counselor and Mental Health Specialist Provider (LPC/MHSP #4456) with a Master of Science (MS) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Memphis. I am a Certified Experiential Therapist (CET-1 #1058) and utilize the expressive arts as part of my practice. Additionally, I hold a Master of Arts (MA) in Speech Communication & Theater Arts and was trained in professional performance from the American Musical Dramatic Academy, New York City/Los Angeles.
